FAQ's

What are your opening hours?

As I work from my home I can be very flexible with my hours. When you book an appointment please let me know what days / times suit you and I will try and find a time that works for you. At present I offer a late night on Tuesday evenings.

What payment types do you take?

You can pay by cash, card or bank transfer.

What should I wear for a treatment?

Reiki / Chakra Balancing- you will remain fully clothed during this treatment, just wear something comfortable that you can relax in.

Foot treatments - I will generally need you to remove your clothing up to your knee. Make sure trousers can be rolled up to the knee level without restricting your movement. Alternatively trousers can be removed and a towel will be provided to cover yourself. If you are having a pedicure please remember to bring flip-flops!

Indian head massage - This is generally done with the top removed, however it can be done through a t-shirt. Let me know your preference when you arrive for your treatment.

Massage - This treatment is usually done with oil, you will be asked to remove your clothing down to your underwear. You will always be left to undress / dress in private and towels will be used to cover any area's not being massaged. However, I can adapt a light massage to be done over clothing. Ideally you should wear non restrictive clothing such as a cotton t-shirt and leggings.

Can I have a massage if I have cancer?

Yes! I am fully qualified and insured in Oncology massage and Oncology facials. All treatments can be adapted to your needs so please do get in touch if you have any concerns. I use the Defiant Beauty product range for these treatments which have been specifically designed for oncology clients.

Which type of massage should I choose?

-Swedish - this is a classic massage, full body and done with oil. Pressure can vary from very gentle to quite deep, depending on your needs on the day.

-Lymphatic Drainage Massage - The treatment is gentle but has very powerful results by removing the build up of toxins from your body. It is proven to help boost your immune system and general health.

-Deep Tissue Massage - For people who like a firm massage. The focus is on the individuals area's of tension, so each treatment can be different.

-Warm Bamboo Massage - A deep tissue treatment using warm bamboo massage tools. This is perfect for people who want a deep massage but also like to relax.

-Indian Head Massage - This is a seated massage that focuses on the upper back, neck and scalp. It is deeply relaxing and perfect for people who would prefer not to fully undress.

-Oncology Massage - This light and gentle massage has been specifically designed for people who are being treated for cancer, or are in the post recovery stage. However, it is also a wonderful treatment if you like a light, gentle, relaxation massage.

-Back Massage - A 1/2 hour treatment for people with limited time. The main focus is the back but can be adapted to your needs on the day.

If you still don't know, then that's ok. Just book in for an hour treatment and we can discuss your needs on the day.

What is the difference between Reflexology and Thai Foot Massage?

Reflexology works on the pressure points on the foot. During the treatment I will work through each point and discuss with you my findings. I will then devise an individual treatment plan to help support your health needs.

Thai foot massage is a general massage treatment of the foot and lower leg which is designed to relax and rejuvenate the whole body. It is the same treatment every time and doesn't require a treatment plan.

If you just want to relax then try Thai Foot Massage, but if you want to focus on your general health then I would recommend reflexology.

Which face treatment should I choose?

All of the facial treatments are designed to relax and rejuvenate the skin and are suitable for all skin types.

- Classic Facial includes a cleanse, tone, scrub, mask and massage.

- Japanese Face Massage focuses on the meridian lines and pressure points of the face, which help to rejuvenate the skin and balance the energies in the entire body. This is perfect for people who don't like lots of products on their skin.

- Natural Face Lift Massage uses a combination of Japanese & Indian facial massage techniques to lift the skin. This is fantastic if you have an important event coming up and you want your skin to look it's best. For best results you should book four to six sessions.

What is an Energy Healing Assessment?

It is widely accepted that the body is made of energy and has a number of energetic systems running through it. Traditional healing systems say that when the energy becomes blocked it can lead to pain or disease. During this session I will check the energetic flow of your Chakra system and your Meridian system and advise on areas that need attention. I work with a combination of Chakra and Meridian balancing techniques as well as Reflexology and Massage. I will show you energy techniques you can use on yourself to help with your energy system and do a treatment tailored to your energy needs. This is great for people who want to understand their bodies better and take more control of their health.

Can I have a treatment when I am pregnant?

Yes! I offer Pregnancy Massage and most other treatments can be adapted to suit your needs when you are expecting. I will need a note from your Doctor or Midwife to confirm that it is ok for you to have a massage. I will remind you of this when you book in.

Can I book more than one treatment?

Yes. Lot's of people choose to book double sessions. Popular mix & match treatments are Thai Foot Massage plus Pedicure; Indian Head Massage plus Back Massage; Reflexology plus Full Body Massage; Back Massage plus Reiki. My treatment room is small so sometimes it means re-arraning the furniture between treatments, but all combinations are possible!
