What do Your Feet Say About You?
Did you know that your feet reflect both your health and personality?
Your feet are fascinating; they contain over 7,000 nerve endings, each connected to different organs in the body. If there's an illness or injury, it will manifest in the feet as pain or a crunchy sensation. The size, shape, and colour of the feet reveal a lot about a person’s personality. By examining and gently pressing on someone’s feet, I can uncover significant insights about their current life situation.
People often wonder how feet can indicate current conditions when they've had the same feet their entire lives. It's a valid question. The truth is, your feet are constantly changing. Have you ever stored away a pair of wonderfully comfortable boots in the spring, only to find them uncomfortable the following autumn? That's because your feet have changed over the summer. If you have children, observe how their feet change shape as they grow; this shape reflects changes in their personality. I noticed this with my own daughter during the 2021 lockdown. As a young teenager, she was always a big thinker and an ideas person, which was evident in her feet by her very large big toes. During the lockdown, when she was away from school, her big toes appeared much smaller, but they fortunately returned to normal once she went back to school.
Your feet play a crucial role in your overall health. We've all felt the discomfort of a blister during a long walk; such a minor issue can influence your entire body, altering your gait and affecting your mood. Similarly, poorly fitting shoes can significantly impact your health, affecting your spine, internal organs, and even causing headaches.
Caring for your feet is a straightforward way to enhance your health and boost your mood. Wearing comfortable shoes, enjoying a foot soak, and receiving a foot massage are not just acts of indulgence; they can profoundly benefit your health.
Here are some characteristics you can observe in your own feet:
Gaps between the toes – difficulty making decisions
Very small toenails – sensitive to others' opinions
Squared off toes - very blunt when dealing with others
Small delicate feet – 'princess' feet, enjoys being pampered
Large, broad feet - hard workers, practical
Big toe & 2nd toe the same length – skilled at multi-tasking
Very high arch – highly independent
Low arch / flat feet - needs the company of others
Flaking skin (new skin underneath) – positive life changes
Flaking skin (continuous flaking) – feeling stuck in certain areas of life
Thick, calloused skin – emotional armour in one aspect of life
Little toes pointing outwards – original thinker/rebellious nature
Yellow colour – feeling 'cheesed off' about something
Dry cracked feet – dehydration
There's so much more to discuss. Feel free to ask me about your feet during your next Reflexology or Thai Foot Massage session.
